Confessions: Books I Think Are Overhyped

It's time for a controversial book blog! Over the last couple of months, I have read a couple of books that I was highly anticipating but left me feeling a little let down. I'd heard such great things about these books, which is why I was sad that I didn't feel the same way that book community seemed to. This got me thinking... what are some books that are really beloved that I felt were overhyped? So here we are... please don't crucify me. I'm not saying these were bad books by any means. Everyone has different tastes and my dislike for these books are just my own opinion. As for the series I have listed below, I probably will not continue on. I mean who has the time to read books they will ultimately not enjoy? Without further ado, here is my top 10 list (in no particular order).

  • The Witchlands series by Susan Dennard
  • Just One Day and Just One Year by Gayle Forman
  • Shades of Magic series by V. E. Schwab
  • Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas
  • An Abundance of Katherines by John Green
  • All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr
  • Summer series by Jenny Han
  • The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater
  • The Remnant Chronicles by Mary E. Pearson
  • The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
