Logan - Movie Review

Genre: Superhero, Action

Director: James Mangold

Starring: Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart

My Rating:  ★★★★★

Synopsis: In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X in a hide out on the Mexican border. But Logan's attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant arrives, being pursued by dark forces.

My Thoughts: THIS MOVIE WAS AMAZING! What a way for Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart to end their X-Men career. Logan had everything you could want in a movie... high action, tear-jerking moments, laughs, rated R comic book material, and an excellent ending. As a longtime follower of the X-Men movie franchise, I can honestly say that this was my 2nd favorite X-Men movie (Deadpool holds a special place in my heart).

This movie takes place 12 years in the future, in the year 2029, and the world has eliminated all mutants. Logan and Professor X are essentially old men now and are in hiding. Professor X is suffering from a neurodegenerative disease, while Logan is being slowly poisoned by the adamantium that was put into him nearly 200 years ago. This set up alone sounded like a great plot for a movie, but there is so much more than just that. I really don't think I can say anything else without spoiling the movie. If you haven't gone to see Logan... GO NOW. You won't regret it. If you have seen the movie, check out the spoiler section below.
